Spring Break

This Spring Break we got to go on a week long cruise to the Caribbean! It was my first time going on a cruise and I absolutely LOVED it. I am obsessed with the sunshine :) Here are all of our fun pictures from our 9 day vacation.

SLC airport

Florida :) As soon as we got off the plane I could feel the heat and humidity
and I was in heaven

This is the straw market that we shopped at. I was FREAKING out because they have tons of purses and jewelry just like in Chinatown in New York. Chinatown is my favorite place ever :) I was ecstatic to find this little place! At first I was shy and didn't want to spend money but then I got going and I got a WAY cute purse and backpack and lots of jewelry.

the boys playing laser tag
this is where we met every night to eat and play cards

the whole gang at one of the shows. There were tons of fun entertainment. They had lots of comedians, an illusionist, a hypnotist, a comedy juggler, and lots of dancing shows.

St. Thomas
When we got off the ship in St. Thomas I could not believe how hot it was! It was so humid too. I loved it but the pictures show how hot it was. These pictures show the tram ride we took to the highest point on the island. This is us waiting in line.

Puerto Rico
I thought St. Thomas was the hottest I had ever been until we arrived in Puerto Rico. It was SO hot here. First we walked up to an old war fort. It was SO awesome to walk around inside of this. We got so many neat pictures. The views were awesome! I kinda didn't want to go in because these little creatures were the first things I saw when we walked up to the fort.

After the fort, Brad Heather Court Tyler and I all walked down and found a beach! I was way excited because we hadn't gone to one yet! The water was really rocky so we had to be careful swimming. This water was the most perfect temperature of any ocean I've ever swam in. Puerto Rico was definitely my favorite port. The only bad thing was I put on sun screen over and over and over all day and I still got the worst sun burn I've ever had. As we were leaving the beach, my arms were already starting to hurt and by the time we got back on the ship my arms were purple.

Grand Turk
Our last port was Grand Turk. There were tons of beaches right off the ship that we were excited to go to. We got rained on but I was actually happy about the rain since I was suffering from my sunburn.

The most awesome thing about Grand Turk was that we walked down the beach about a mile or so and there were THOUSANDS of these huge beautiful shells laying around. Tyler dug a hole in the sand where there was no shells laying around. He kept digging and found about 30 shells just in this little hole he dug. We brought two of the smaller ones home they are so pretty!

Second formal night
Last night on the ship

Our waiters were both from indonesia and they were so fun! I loved the food that we got to eat the whole cruise. For breakfast every morning we would hit up the breakfast buffet and get pancakes, french toast, cereal, toast, bagels, eggs, bacon, hash browns, and anything else we wanted. For lunch we would always eat hamburgers or deli sandwiches. The were both SO good. At dinner they had different menus every night. We would order an appetizer first, then a main course, and of course a dessert. Some of my favorite appetizers were the ceasar salad, even though it had anchovies in the dressing. I also liked all the fruit. Tyler and all of his family really liked the fruit soups. The main courses that were my favorite included the salmon of course. The last night I ordered some jumbo coconut shrimp and it was the best shrimp I've ever had! My favorite dessert was the diet banana sponge cake! It was amazing! Surprisingly enough I didn't gain any weight on this cruise! I actually lost a pound!

Back home in salt lake.
It was SO wonderful of Tyler's parents to take us on this fun adventure. Its actually really fun having such a big family to do such fun things together. This was one last family vacation before Tyler's parents leave for 3 years to serve as mission presidents in Edmonton, Canada.
