The engagement

One sunday afternoon, Tyler asked me if he could take me on a hike. At this point, he told me a friend or ours was making the ring and that it was going to take about 3 more weeks for it to be finished. I agreed to the hike. I thought it was a little odd we were doing it on a Sunday, but I didn't think much about it. We started the hike, and after a few minutes I was already tired. Tyler kept telling me he just wanted to get to the top so that we could take some pictures. I was a little confused, I didn't understand why he wanted to take more pictures. We had done the same hike the week before, and had taken plenty of pictures. I continued to complain the whole hike up. At one point, I was sitting in the middle of the trail telling Tyler I couldn't go any further. Once we got the top, Tyler put me on his back and carried me to the top. Once we got up there, we went to step out onto a certain rock that looked over the valley. As I went to step, Tyler grabbed me and pulled me back because I almost stepped on a rattle snake. After that, I was freaking out. I turned around and started walking back down the mountain. Tyler begged me to stay and take some pictures. I agreed but told him to make it quick.

Tyler turned on the self timer and we took this still shot. I asked him if we could go, but he said he wanted a few more. He went back over to his camera, and turned the video camera on. I thought we were still taking still shots. After looking at the quality of this picture, I definitely wanted to leave. I couldn't open my eyes and the wind was blowing so hard.

Tyler acted like we took another still shot then asked me to go check the camera. I walked to the camera, and he went down on one knee. He then said my name, I turned around and asked him what he was doing haha. He said some of the cutest nicest things he has ever said to me. I started crying because it caught me off guard. He asked me to marry him and I said yes!! I loved the way he did everything. I told him I didn't want anyone else around us I just wanted to be alone with him. I love that we have it all on video.
